Lotion Bar Giveaway

Posted by on May 16, 2013

It’s happened to all of us at one time or another…Your first thought might be, “Wow! My luggage sure smells nice!” Then your brain starts to remind you that luggage doesn’t usually have a particular odor, and if it did, it wouldn’t normally be considered “nice”.

You start trying to remember which of your toiletries has that particular smell…it’s your lotion…the tiny bottle of  lotion you wasted $1.25 on to stay within the 3 oz. TSA rule…and the while the flip lid stayed shut, the cap somehow untwisted itself with the change in cabin pressure. Now there your clothes are covered in lotion (how does such a small amount of lotion make such a big mess?) and your next chance to do laundry is in 3 days. Not good.

This has happened to me more times than I can count. Now I always pack lotion and shampoo bottles within Ziploc bags and I tape them shut with electrical tape, but every once in a while I still experience leaky bottles. There’s a solution:

Jordan Essentials Lotion Bar

I tested this lotion bar and was quite impressed. Using it after my shower, it rubbed softly onto my skin and felt as moisturizing as liquid lotion, but without the gooey feeling. When using it on my feet I actually felt like it was even better than regular lotion. It absorbed right away and left my feet feeling soft, not sticky.

Ella became my second tester. It was so easy for her to use by herself and I didn’t have to worry about her spilling lotion or squirting too much and becoming a greasy mess.

I wanted to experiment a little with different ways to use it. I tried it in the shower and used it as a shaving lotion. It worked great for that and left my skin soft and smooth so I didn’t have to apply any after I dried off. If you plan to use it as a shaving lotion, though, I would recommend using disposable razors because the lotion did clog the razor. I still got a close shave in spite of that.

I get eczema on my legs but when I used this lotion bar after every shower, the irritation was gone. That’s a big deal for me, because usually I have to apply lotion twice a day to keep the eczema from irritating me. With the lotion bar I was fine until the next shower.

Jordan Essentials Lotion Bars come in a variety of scents. We chose the Oatmeal Milk & Honey, wanting something not to perfumed so that it was versatile for anyone to use. It has a very pleasant scent. With my post-pregnancy hormones it was actually a bit too strong smelling for me to use on my upper body at first, but I noticed that this week it didn’t bother me at all. And Ella always loved the smell of it.

Jordan Essentials Lotion Bar comes in a metal tin and is perfect for travel. If you travel with carry on bags only, you don’t have to worry about removing this from your bag for the security checks. And whether you carry on or check your bags, it’s so nice not having to worry about your lotion spilling everywhere. I love it for kids since there is no mess involved in applying it. Ella loved it because she got to apply it completely herself, with no help from me. Kids love to be independent!

I also love that it’s chemical free. It feels good to use natural ingredients that you know won’t cause harm to your body.

Want to try it? You can win your own Jordan Essentials Lotion Bar. We are teaming up with Lydia’s Jordan Essentials to give away one lotion bar in Oatmeal & Honey scent to a lucky reader. Details and entry form are below. Good luck!
